Comedy Driving Inc is a defensive driving school, or a driving safety school, that was founded in Houston, TX in the year 2002. The concept of Comedy Driving began when the company’s founder and CEO, Jeff Bitner, thought of his one major philosophy: “no canceled classes and no appointments necessary to attend a driving safety class, along with prompt delivery of the certificate of completion to the customers.” At that time, driving safety schools in Texas required people who wished to attend their classes to preregister. The sole purpose of the pre-registration process was to cancel the classes that did not have enough students attending. Class would only be held if enough people were registered for it. Jeff believed his philosophy combined with customer service was key and began teaching his classes whether they were for one person or for fifty. He also originally offered the class at a very competitive rate of only $25. Comedy Driving, at first, was just a driving safety school, but within a few years Comedy Driving acquired the “Drivers Improvement” through Positive Reinforcement Course provider, renamed it Comedy Driving which allowed Comedy Driving to expedite the delivery of certificates to its customers.
In 2005, Comedy Driving started developing an online driving safety course with humor because the available online driving safety courses, at that time, did not have the humor that many individuals wanted. In 2008, the Texas Education Agency approved Comedy Driving’s online format for driving safety classes and defensive driving classes. The course was developed into a humorous, fun, and easy to use online defensive driving course that was given at the lowest rate possible by Texas, just $25. One of the major differences that separated Comedy Driving from other defensive driving courses was that Comedy Driving offered great customer support with live people over the phone 24/7/365.
The year 2012 marked another update for Comedy Driving. The website underwent reconstruction changes, that resulted in better animation, voiceovers, and began mobile device support such as iPads, Tablets, and smart phones. The course has taught hundreds of thousands of people to drive safer in Texas. Currently Comedy Driving is the largest driving safety course provider that offers defensive driving with Comedy in Texas.
The company initially began with only one location on the Katy Freeway, but has thrived into 5 different locations in the Greater Houston Area, including a very strong online presence. There are a total of 26 defensive driving classes given physically by Comedy Driving Inc every week in the Houston area. Comedy Driving also has a Spanish class taught once a month at the Katy Freeway location.
